Company Anniversary

On July 4, 2015 Richard Anton KG celebrated the 111th anniversary of its foundation.

RichardAnton_111Jahre

Especially for this anniversary of this family enterprise a new film was commissioned. This film was to fully take advantage of state-of-the-art technology and to both technically and emotionally impress the viewer with many aerial shots and strong impressions. That’s why equipment was used that is used also in the making of cinematic movies. The crane used, a Movietech ABC crane, had been used right before at the FIFA European Soccer Championships in Poland and in the Ukraine; the same applies to the Movietech CD5 dolly. The daylight and artificial light lamps used are products originating from the Munich company ARRI, recipient of several Oscars. The aerial footage was taken with a Black Magic camera.

This image film was shot in October 2014 at the Richard Anton KG headquarters in Gräfelfing as well as at both company-owned plants in Obernzell and Mannheim. The foundry footage was taken in Schwarzenbach a.d. Saale

Special thanks go to the Richard Anton KG employees who actively supported the film crew; some of them even had a part in the film.

Social Engagement

For a few years we have been supporting social institutions in order to give many people all over the world a few happy moments. This has been of special concern to us.   Every year – following the motto “Christmastime is donation time” – we forego the usual Christmas presents and instead donate to the following organizations:

Global H2O (www.globalh2o.org)

Global H2O is an international non-profit organisation with the goal to provide clean water and sanitation to the rural population in developing countries. According to U.N. estimates every year worldwide almost 5 million people die from diseases caused by drinking water problems! A donation of as little as EUR 20 provides drinking water for one individual on a lifelong basis. In the preparatory stage Global H2O establishes the necessary conditions for successful well building under severe conditions, simultaneously ensuring health education for the local population. We are in close contact with Global H2O with regular information on progressing projects being reported to us. Here we know that the money actually reaches those who desperately need it.

Christiane Herzog Stiftung (www.christianeherzogstiftung.de)

The foundation assists young people in their fight for the power of breathing and forms an institution for patients suffering from cystic fibrosis (CF), also known as mucoviscidosis. Cystic fibrosis is the most common autosomal recessive disease among people in this part of the world. Around 6,000 to 8,000 children and young adults suffer from CF in Germany.
The accumulation of thick mucus in the lungs has a counterpart in thickened secretions from the pancreas. Organ functions gradually decline. In later stages people with CF literally loose their power to breathe. In many cases the symptoms are mistaken for chronic bronchitis or croup. So far there sadly is no cure for cystic fibrosis. In all stages of the disease its treatment requires a team of specialists including doctors, social workers, psychologists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and nursing staff. In general, the best treatment is given in larger specialist centres. While in the nineteen-sixties the average life expectancy was only around 1 – 5 years, today the prognosis has significantly improved. Nowadays, the median age of survival is estimated to be 40 years and over.

Welthungerhilfe (www.welthungerhilfe.de)

In 1962, the “Freedom from Hunger Campaign” caused Federal President Heinrich Lübke to found “The German committee for the fight against hunger”. Thereby he started the first chapter of the history of Welthungerhilfe. Since that time the organisation has persistently fought for a goal: ensuring nutrition of all human beings. Today Welthungerhilfe is one of Germany’s largest private aid organisations. They fight against global hunger and for sustainable food security. This incorporates the promotion of agriculture suited to local conditions, access to clean water, the provision of modern, environmentally friendly energy and the improvement of health and education. Federal President Joachim Gauck is Welthungerhilfe’s patron.

Pet-Assistance Germany (www.tiertafel.de)

For many people in Germany their pet is the only thing left to them. Especially retirees, homeless or handicapped people often are not able financially or bodily anymore to correctly feed or care for their only friend. The Pet-Assistance makes it their job to help such citizens in need.

New production plant in Obernzell

In 2012 we built a new production plant on the grounds of our original production facility in Obernzell near Passau. We invested more than 5 million Euros in a completely new production plant.
We intend to further expand our leading position as strategic partner of the foundry and steel industries. Our emphasis is not only to increase our plant’s capacity from 2500 to 5000 MT, but also to aim for a future strategic position based on expansion and improved production capabilities. That’s why we used nothing but the most up-to-date resource and energy-saving technologies.

The new plant was put into operation in November 2012 after less than 9 months of construction.

Here you get an idea of the new plant.
