Company logo throughout the course of time

The elephant – the animal representing Richard Anton KG’s “coat of arms” – has special significance. Richard Anton who founded the company in Munich and gave it its name, learnt to know the mighty beasts during his business trips in Sri Lanka. They transported the natural graphite which started the family success story from the mines in the interior to the port of Colombo. The pachyderms impressed Richard Anton to such a degree that he decided to make them the company trademark.

Lucky number “13”

Company founder Richard Anton had a special relationship not only with elephants but also with the number ‘13‘. So it was on December 13, 1904 at 13.00 German time. that he called his company into being. Just one year later he won the exclusive right to import “Ceylon graphite” into Europe.
